Ancient Tablet Found
Here's a fascinating news story by the British
Museum revealing the discovery of an ancient tablet that mentions a biblical
figure in the book of Jeremiah "Nebo Sarsekim" who was a chief officer
of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar.
The tablet is dated to the 10th year of Nebuchadnezzar
II (595 BC)
Confirming the existence of this Babylonian official.
Jeremiah 39:3
Then all the officials of the king of Babylon
came and took seats in the Middle Gate: Nergal-Sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-Sarsekim
a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer a high official and all the other officials
of the king of Babylon.

Austrian Assyriologist Dr Michael Jursa who is
Associate Professor at the University of Vienna who made the discovery
says
"To find a cuneiform reference to someone connected
with these remarkable times is rare but evidence from non-Biblical sources
for the existence of any individual named in the Bible - other than kings
- is incredibly rare"
