Defeating Worry And Fear

Fear worry and doubt are the three muskateers that never seem to go away,they are the unwanted friends that you just can't seem to get rid of, oh you've asked them nicely to get lost, you have tried to ignore them, you've cried , you've pleaded! but no matter what you do they just keep coming back. 



So what's the problem ? what do I do to get rid of them..This issue has been on my mind a long time,I struggle with it as well, in fact I dont think it's possible to be in this wretched world and not have to deal with it. But there is an answer and its a simple one, stop trying with your own strength to get rid of those emotions and instead ignore them and seek God instead. Or to clarify further, don't just seek God but rather seek Gods presence

Let me clarify even further it is not the act of seeking in itself that frees you, it is the actual manifestation of his presence that drives all that away. When God is present fear is gone, when God is present the last thing you care about are the worries of this world, it is when you don't feel him that worry and doubt all seem to cling to you.

Now you might be saying to yourself, yes that all sounds just wonderful but how do I feel Gods presence? First thing you need to realize is that God isn't hiding from you, he wants his children to know him, however you need to put yourself into a position to do that, sin , disobedience lack of belief all drive a wedge between you and him. 

Can I say do this do that and whamo God is there? no, it's not up to me when and where he chooses to do so, but you can rely on his promises...trust of his word seems like such a hard thing.. why is that?

Here is a puzzle.. If I know God is real and If I have experienced his presence, than why do I doubt and fear? Is it possible to have him manifest to you and still be stuck in doubt? yes..sadly so at least from my experiences. The moment of salvation is different from the moment of full surrender to him, the road between those two points is the first part of the journey we all must take. You doubt and fear because you don't trust him.

Doubt fear and worry are spiritual attacks, make no mistake, they are lies being hammered at you to rob you of joy, to steal your peace and to keep you paralyzed from doing what our Lord may have called you to do. Doubt says God cant be trusted, fear is disbelief that God will do for you what he has promised to do, worry is akin to fear , all of the three muskateers love to run together but recognize them for what they are.... LIES.

Here's the truth. God not only loves you, but wants only the best for you...Gods word is true, Gods promises are real, and not only is God who he says he is , but everything he has said in his word will come to pass if you will simply believe it and trust him.

You have to learn to let go of what it is you are struggling with, If you wish God to work on an area of your life than surrender it to him and allow him to do it, God holds our right hand and tells us to not be afraid as he will help us. So let him. Learn Gods promises and apply them to your circumstances, speak them from your mouth and believe them because they are true!  Do what God has called you to do and leave the rest to him.

Isaiah 41:13 
For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

When doubt fear worry etc come, recognize them for what they are lies, reject them than pray, ask God to remove the doubt, the fear the worry from you, and to enable you to have this level of faith,focus on him.. 

You fight spiritual attacks with the word of God, replace lies with truth, get your thoughts off of your circumstances and onto what he has said instead, bring your thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

trust God for it
believe it
than it will happen

If you are currently struggling with this than don't dispair, in fact do the opposite realize it for what it means God is working in you, perfecting you.. trying your faith..Teaching you to trust him and developing patience in you.

1 Peter 1:3-7

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 



To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: 



That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:



Lets take a look at a couple scriptures that bring some light on this issue.



1 John 4:18 
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment.He that feareth is not made perfect in love



It is only God who can drive out that fear and worry and it is only by surrending your life to Jesus Christ that you can begin to be transformed into that state, where fear, doubt and worry become a thing of the past. I wish I could say it's instant and I don't have every possible answer to this question, but unless you begin to work towards that goal you will never get there. 



So what do we do to not only feel his presence but also to make this a reality? Make every effort to do as he wishes you to do, Obey God, seek God and strive to trust God. Only God can empower you to do this, it is only by him that anything is possible, you can't do it on your own. Pray for his presence to manifest in you, and earnestly seek him and cooperate with his will. If you do... than the rest will follow. Pray seek and obey!, Pray seek and obey!



If you have sin in your life turn from it, fight to become as he would have you become,HOLD TIGHT TO YOUR FAITH, and press forward, try and remember back to when  you where saved, and you first knew all of this to be true, It was true than and it is still true now.. At the moment of salvation you began your race, you are now in the midst of it, keep your eyes on the goal and realize your trials for what they really are.. Keep eternity, not this world and it's temporary lusts your single focus and driving hope.



Romans 12:2

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Now if you haven't allready accepted the truth that Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God was nailed to a cross to pay the penalty for your sin and accepted his free gift of salvation, than likely all of this sounds like nonesense to you. 

and if that is the case than my friend you are in grave danger, hell and Judgement.... sinners and saints! all of this stuff is real.
