Are You Perishing?

Being a christian is a difficult road..never let anyone tell you its a ticket to an easy life, as at least from my experiences, it is a  path filled with trials, and much pain, the word Doubt takes on a whole new meaning when you find God, but Im not going to babble today about any of that, instead I am going to babble about something that came to my mind as I was driving around facing my own battles.. I remembered what star trek would call the prime directive..for christians it is called the great commission, and what that means is to attempt to bring others into a saving knowledge of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and while rembering that ..this verse came to mind..

1 Corinthians 1:18-31 
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.

When facing our own trials and battles perhaps the wisest thing we can do next to prayer, is to remember what our priorities are..they aren't money, women,men,husbands and wives or any of the many desires of the flesh that satan may throw our way to distract us, no our only REAL priority is to Do the will of God and it is his will that 

1.We shall Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind. This is the first and most important commandment. 

2.The second most important commandment is like this one. And it is, " Love others as much as you love yourself."

His will is also that none should perish, now I do realize that I tend to write with a hardball approach, but if a hardball is what will save your soul from eternal death, than a hardball I will throw.

2 Peter 3:6-10
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

What I Know

I know that hell and judgement are real..and I know that all of us will face God, and I also know that unless you have accepted our Lords sacrifice for your sins and truly repented of them that you will be lost. 

How I know
I know that for two main reason the first is because I KNOW God is real and the second is because if I know God is real than clearly the bible is real, and the bible is very clear on this point..now you might be asking yourself ok, how do you know God is real?, and that my friends is a topic for another page.. This page is to show you one very simple and fast way to know if you are lost.. I am going to post a scripture below and I want you to read it..

Now ask Yourself
Do you find any of this foolish, unbelievable? do you say to yourself... ya whatever and laugh? when people tell you the truth of Gods word do you instantly disbelieve it, ignore it..nod your head politely and extract yourself from the conversation?  Or maybe you think, hmm yes that might be true but I've done some good things in life, im a good person im sure it will all be fine at the end... or maybe you are so decieved that you laugh out loud grab another beer and openly ridicule anyone who mentions the things of God.

Websters dictionary defines foolish as..

fool·ish (flsh)
1. Lacking or exhibiting a lack of good sense or judgment; silly: foolish remarks.
2. Resulting from stupidity or misinformation; unwise: a foolish decision.
3. Arousing laughter; absurd or ridiculous: a foolish grin.
4. Immoderate or stubborn; unreasonable: foolish pride; foolish love.
5. Embarrassed; abashed: I feel foolish telling you this.
6. Insignificant; trivial: spent all their money on foolish little knickknacks

and foolishness is defined as...

devoid of wisdom or good sense as to be laughable: a foolish expenditure of energy; a silly argument; made fatuous remarks; an absurd idea that is bound to fail; a preposterous excuse that no one believed; offered a ridiculous explanation for his tardiness; a ludicrous criticism that was immediately dismissed.
 

Now ask yourself  Do you find the message of the cross foolishness, and than ask yourself why? maybe you are asking what is the message of the cross? and if so just read below.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Again we see the word perish....God does not want you to perish, and I don't want you to perish, I am going get into what perish means shortly but before I do I am going to turn on the big blinking warning sign and hope that God will use it to attempt to break through your deception.

4.UNLESS YOU ACCEPT JESUS AND HIS PAYMENT FOR YOUR SINS YOU WILL BE LOST.
 

John 6:44 (New International Version)
"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me

But But But.. Ive been a good person, I've tried my best to do well in life does that mean im still lost?

ANSWER

Ephesians 2:4-9
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

There is no other way, don't be decieved, Jesus is the only way. <------THAT IS THE TRUTH

If  God loves me why is there hell?

Sin must be dealt with, God is a God of justice, it goes back to the fall of man  in the garden of Eden when eve tempted by satan chose to disobey God and take from the tree of Knowledge and than giving to adam who also ate, condemned mankind to be banished from the garden and forcing them to survive "by the sweat of their brow 

it was through that act that let sin entered into the world and through sin death

Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned

The payment for sin is death And to redeem man from his fall and ultimate death. Jesus who is God in the flesh came into this world, as payment for that sin debt. Some people doubt that God loves them, but think of it, The creator of the universe, God almighty himself allowed man to beat him,torture him, ridicule him,spit on him and ultimately nail him to a cross for the sole purpose of giving us a chance to redeem ourselves from death and to know him. and you wonder if God loves you?

Romans 4:25
He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him

John 3:16

Now as I briefly babble off topic ,If you read genesis (and you should) notice that there where two trees in the garden, the tree of Knowledge and the tree of Life, the only tree God forbid Adam from eating from was the tree of knowldge.He could have eaten from the tree of life and became immortal, but instead we find ourselves in this current state, 

Isn't it interesting how Jesus is described as the way the truth and the life.. and isn't it also interesting how mankind again has been given two choices  A: ) To choose life by accepting our Lords sacrifice for us or B:) reject him .  Two choices before us and again satan doing his best to decieve all of us into choosing death instead, 

this world is certainly no eden, but the choices are there in front of us.  <..................... did that sound like foolishnees to you?

You might have thought to yourself oh if only adam and eve had chosen the tree of life when they had the chance. and if you did than I submit you have that same choice now,, --- what have you chosen?
 

So what awaits those who don't by choice or deception --accept Gods free gift to us.while they are alive and have that opportunity? Make no mistake when you die if you havent you will not have another chance, you will go to a place that the bible describes as the lake of fire it is the pit, it is hell. (does that sound foolish?) Now does anyone know what hell is like? unless you are dead and in it I don't see how, we can only go by what the bible tells us, but here are a few

If someone is in a burning car that is about to explode and refuses to believe its on fire but just smiles at you through the window instead, all you can do is yell at him to get out of the car and hope he wakes up in time.
