What Should I Pray For

Now if you have accepted what jesus has done on the cross for your sins than it is true that we are his children and it is also true that God is our father,and knowing from experience that, intellectual knowledge is far different from understanding, meaning I can read a manual about how to build an airplane and perhaps even understand it, 

but until I actually build the airplane no matter how much I read I won't KNOW what it is to build an airplane until I actually do. I find the bible is very similar to that, I can read the passages but it is only through God providing me his wisdom about what I read can I truly understand the meaning.
 

With that in mind it occured to me, that if we are children and he is our father than our thoughts and desires reflect our immaturity, for example when you where 4 what you asked your parents for where the desires that came from the mind of a four year old, to illustrate what im trying to say here I will tell a story
 

You are 4 years old and after a long day of shopping with your mom she decides to take you into a candy store to buy you something as a reward for being so good. As you look around the store your eyes catch the site of a delicous lolipop,it has different colors there's a little toy animal on top and it's in a beautiful wrapper.Seeing it you decide that YOU MUST HAVE IT!
 

Your mom also has been looking around the store and as she does finds a 6 foot chocolate bunny  filled with many lolipops, just like the one you want, it also has toys, puzzles etc..she shows you the chocolate bunny and says my son I love you very much and because you have been good I will buy you this delicious chocolate bunny as a reward.
 

Tears roll down your face and you point at the lolipop you first saw and say NO mommy I want that.. She tries to explain to you that what she has chosen for you is much better, ignoring her and determined to get what you want you stamp your feet and cry. Your mom looks at you and tries again to explain that her choice is FAR better for you
 

Again ignoring her and only thinking of what you want you cry louder.She looks at you once more this time with great sadness and says,

I brought you here to buy you a reward for being good today and because of that you can choose whatever it is you wish.Victorious and with a smile on your face you grab the 5 cent candy and run to the counter, she pays for it and you leave the store oblivious to what you could have had instead.

CHOOSE THE CHOCOLATE BUNNY!

Now in my story had the little boy said mommy please choose something for me and waited for her, he would have gotten what he wanted originally but also much more than he asked for. 

One thing to keep in mind  If you are currently going through a major trial. a Job experience and you feel like God has told you that your deliverance is at hand, than very carefully keep these thoughts in mind...

Our enemy the devil would love nothing more than to steal the blessing God has for you, often as a last ditch attempt when everything else has failed


He will throw what seems to be an answer your way. A "lolli-pop" choose the lollipop and lose the blessing that God has for you..

Be patient- trust in the Lord and wait patientely for him to direct your steps, your answer will come.

So knowing that God is our father and knowing that we are little children than we can conclude that the wisest thing any of us can pray for is not what our thoughts and desires center upon but rather what God wants for us, or in other words what Gods will for our lives is.

God cares very much for our needs in this world, but he cares far more for our eternal lives .Now Im not suggesting that you don't pray for your particular needs, in fact I think you should pray as much as you can, no matter what the topic.
 

PRAY PRAY PRAY
 

To know God and grow into the likeness of his Son is not an easy thing! It is a gradual process with many trials and many painful hurtles to overcome,and the only way to get through them is by
prayer. 

Coming to the point of salvation where You feel the touch of God for the first time is the begining..but all the garbage, all the pain, all the Fear and Doubt needs to be dealt with, We are refined by fire, perfected by HIM. How does he do it? 

Gently one step at a time. It is by trial that you learn to lose your fear, lose your doubt, It is by trial that you slowly learn to rely on him.. to believe in him .. To truly TRUST him.
 

It is not an easy road by any means
 

This world is but a temporary blink in eternity,It is so important that you choose life and seek him while you still can. It all begins with prayer, and the first prayer, the most important prayer in our quest to find him is the prayer for forgiveness

Isaiah 55:6-7 (NIV)
 

Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts.Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him,and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
